How did
Christ come into our world?
“For today a Savior has been born to you in the city of David, who is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2.11).
What sacrament was performed for this?
“The angel
answered her: The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most
High will overshadow you; therefore, the Holy One who is being born will be
called the Son of God” (Luke 1.35).
Was it necessary that He be born in this way and assume human nature?
“Therefore,
He had to become like the brethren in everything, in order to be a merciful and
faithful High Priest before God, to make atonement for the sins of the people”
(Heb 2.17).
With such a wonderful Savior, what does the Holy Scripture call us to do?
“Therefore, having a great High Priest Who has passed through heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession. For we do not have an High Priest who cannot sympathize with us in our infirmities, but Who, like us, is tempted in everything, except sin” (Heb 4.14-15).
