In whom has
God blessed us?
“Blessed be
the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with
every spiritual blessing in heaven, for He has chosen us in Him… and the praise
of the glory of His grace, which He has made us favored in the Beloved” (Eph 1.3-6).
What is the
basis of our faith?
“So then
faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom 10.17).
What is the
first evidence that we live in harmony with God if we accept Jesus Christ by
faith?
“If we
accept the testimony of man, the testimony of God is greater, for it is the
testimony of God, by which God testified about His Son... This testimony
consists in this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His
Son” (1 John 5.9-11 ).
Note. The
Word of God is the basis of our faith and harmony with God, for it was spoken
by God Himself. Accepting Christ in our hearts and believing in Him is the most
important thing for our salvation and proves that God accepts us as we are.
Why did the
apostle John testify in writing about the love of God, and also about the
purpose for which God sent His Son into our world?
“These
things are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of
God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20.31).
“This I
have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may
know that by believing in the Son of God you have eternal life” (1 John 5.13).
What
evidence does every sincere believer in Christ have that He lives in harmony
with God?
“He who
believes in the Son of God has a testimony of himself; whoever does not believe
God presents him as a lie, because he does not believe in the testimony by
which God testified of his Son” (1 John 5.10).
Note.
Convinced faith should not be confused with feelings, which are often fickle.
The faith of a Christian is nourished by the Word of God, no matter how we feel
at any given moment. Our feelings can sometimes conflict with our Christian
beliefs. This is the reason why many people, having heard about Christ, are
unable to accept the forgiveness he offers and cannot live in accordance with
His will without feeling that God has accepted them, because they themselves do
not accept the Word of God as revelation of God Himself and do not see God in
His Word, but instead succumb to their changing feelings and moods. Living
faith is always the source of joyful feelings that come from the Christian's
confidence that God has forgiven him and accepted him as he is, and now his
whole life is in harmony with His will. And this order always remains
unchanged.
What other
evidence is there that we are living in harmony with God's will?
“We know
that we have passed from death to life because we love our brothers” (1 John
3.14).
What
priceless gift do we receive when we receive Christ?
“This is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6.40, see John 17.2).
