"There is no hell": the Pope puzzled Catholics with a contradictory statement.

 

Pope Francis has said that hell does not exist. The souls of those who have not accepted repentance simply disappear into oblivion. The pontiff said this in an interview with the newspaper La Repubblica.

When asked where sinful souls go, the Pope replied that they simply disappear.

"Those who repent receive forgiveness from God. Some cannot receive forgiveness of sins and simply disappear. Hell doesn't exist".

Denying the existence of hell is contrary to the dogma of the Catholic faith. After the publication of the article, the Vatican said that Francis' words were misinterpreted by the journalist.
