ON THE IMAGE AND SIMILARITY

It is said about man: God created him in His own image and likeness.

What does it mean ?

The Bible teaches that both man and animal are “living souls” (Ecclesiastes). But only man was created in the image and likeness of God.

A person has a different brain. Animals do not believe and do not pray, they do not transform nature, do not speak foreign languages, do not know art and higher mathematics.

In animals, everything that is needed, including the way of building your home, is laid down from birth, and a person must learn. His language is not only a means of communication, but also a means of thinking, without language (without hearing the language) a person will never become a person.

An animal always behaves the same in a particular situation. The proof of this is the behavior of animals on the program "These Funny Animals". After guessing one of several options, the animal is given an opportunity, and he always does just that! Many animals, such as dogs, are distinguished by loyalty, not because they are good, but because they are not given a choice. A person is able to commit meanness, as he can be both good and bad according to his choice. However, there is a responsibility for the consequences of the choice: what you sow is what you reap, as the Apostle Paul said.

SO, ONLY A HUMAN DIFFERS GOOD FROM EVIL. But he himself still cannot do this, for this there are Ten Commandments. Any attempt by man to turn into a god and invent his own morality led to disaster.

There is no fundamental difference between a dolphin and a butterfly. A dolphin can never behave like a butterfly, and a butterfly cannot behave like a dolphin.

However, a dolphin can behave like a dolphin only as long as it is alive. However, a person is also a person, only as long as he is alive.

The Bible teaches that there is NO conscious state in death. The fact that a person is like God DOES NOT MEAN that he is immortal, because a person is not omnipotent and does not know everything.

Death is a state when a man, like any animal by himself, is not able to be a man. The afterlife is a pagan teaching and has nothing to do with the Bible! The doctrine of eternal torment denigrates God and perverts His character. Death is dreamless sleep, during which time does not flow, and the resurrection of the dead is awakening from sleep. This is what Jesus Christ himself taught (read the Gospel of John, where the resurrection of Lazarus is described)!
