Not all animals are suitable for humans in
food.
Modern medical scientists only in the
nineteenth century confirmed what has long been known: The Bible does not
accidentally divides animals on the net, that is, suitable for food, and
unclean-the nurses of nature, which because of their belonging to these contain
toxic Substances and very harmful, special bacteria. The ban on unclean animals
is NOT a ritual ban, but is directly related to our health, because many
diseases, especially internal organs, are the result of improper nutrition.
The scriptures, given the knowledge of
ancient people, divide the animals into four basic classes: terrestrial
animals, aquatic animals, birds and reptiles.
Unclean terrestrial animals are those that
are terrestrial, that "do not chew gum" or "do not have forked
hooves", and especially listed four of the impure: camel, hare, jerboa and pig.
All poultry (chicken, turkey, duck, goose,
quail) are clean, and the unclean birds in the Pentateuch are listed, such as
Swan and ostrich.
Only a few species, such as locusts, are
edible from insects.

As for fishes and other aquatic animals, it
is possible to eat only those who have fins and scales. Crustaceans, oysters and
other seafood are not suitable for food, as well as Sturgeon, which has fins,
but instead of scales shell.
The Guide for American Sailors (special
brochure) contains instructions for the event of shipwreck and falling on a
deserted island, what fish can be eat and what is not with the description of
each. There is a lot of text, but on the last page it is said: "If you
have not managed to learn all this, remember the main thing: only that has both
fins and scales, suitable for food!"
