How can we avoid the disasters that are coming into the world?

“Watch therefore at all times and pray that you may be able to avoid all these future disasters and stand before the Son of Man” (Luke 21.36).

Note. Vigilance is as necessary as prayer is if we are to avoid evil, deceit, and end-time calamities.

 

 

What happens if a person loses vigilance?

“But if that servant says in his heart, “My master will not come soon”, and begins to beat servants and maidservants, to eat and drink and get drunk, then the master of that servant will come on a day on which he does not expect, and at an hour, at who does not think, and will cut him, and subject him to the same fate with the unbelievers” (Luke 12.45-46).

 

 

What should the servants of Christ be like when He comes?

“Let your loins be girded and your lamps burning; and you will be like people who are waiting for their master to return from marriage, so that when he comes and knocks, they will immediately open the door to him. Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes (coming), finds awake” (Luke 12.35-37).

 

 

Do we always know what to pray for?

“Likewise, the Spirit strengthens (us) in our weaknesses; for we do not know what to pray for as we ought” (Rom 8.26).

 

 

 

Does God always see fit to grant our requests?

“Thrice I prayed to the Lord to remove him from me, but the Lord said to me: “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness” (2 Cor 12.8-9).

Note. Paul's ailment, according to some, was poor eyesight (see Acts 9.8-9.18, 22.11-13). This defect was to constantly remind him of his conversion, and therefore it was to him in a certain sense a blessing.

 

 

How does God foresee the needs of His children?

“And it shall come to pass, before they call, I will answer; they will speak yet, and I will hear” (Is 65.24).

 

 

Is there any limit to God's ability to help?

“And to Him who, by the power that works in us, can do incomparably more than all that we ask or think about” (Eph 3.20).

 

 

How richly has God promised to meet your needs?

“My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus” (Phil 4.19).

 

 

On what condition, according to Christ, will we receive what we ask?

“Therefore I say to you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you will receive it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11.24).

 

 

Will God answer prayer without faith?

“But let him ask in faith, not a little doubting, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, driven up and tossed by the wind: let not such a person think to receive anything from the Lord” (Jac 1.6-7).

 

 

What kind of prayers can we definitely say that they will be heard by God?

“And behold, what boldness we have towards Him, that when we ask anything according to His will, He hears us; and when we know that He listens to us in everything we ask, we also know that we receive what we ask from Him” (1 John 5.14-15).
